Jakarta - According to pollster Charta Politika Indonesia, the voters of Gerindra Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in East Java mostly prefer the Khofifah and Emil pair of candidates that are not endorsed by both political parties.
The poll’s results suggest that East Java voters prefer the pair of candidates Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak compared to Saifullah Yusuf “Gus Ipul”-Puti Guntur Soekarno who are endorsed by the parties in the 2018 East Java gubernatorial election.
“Voters of both Gerindra and PKS are more in support for Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Elestianto Dard,” said Executive Director of Charta Politika Indonesia Yunarto Wijaya yesterday.
Yunarto revealed that 50 percent of Gerindra voters prefer Khofifah-Emil, meanwhile, 34.1 percent are in support for Saifullah-Puti. In the PKS camp, there was 55.6 percent of PKS voters are in favor of Khofifah-Emil and 33.3 percent tend to support Saifullah-Puti.
According to Sarmuji, Deputy Secretary General of Golkar Party, the poll results are interesting to follow. “Gus Ipul supporters are inconsistent in supporting him in the current regional election. People who voted for Gerindra and PKS tend to vote for Khofifah,” said Samuji.
